I have lived by the maxim: I will not die an unlived life
I have asked myself over and over: is the life that I am living the life that wants to express itself through me
Now as I face a cancer diagnosis and a threat to quality and length of life, I am asking: how does the life that wants to live itself through me show up in a context of suffering and vulnerability that is more than ever beyond my capacity … and not so much about living in a freer more life-giving way, as expressing my trust in the divine energy I call God who asks me simply to be present to my circumstances and all those involved. Is the new that I am being called to now a courageous acknowledgment that God is parting the fibres my being … and penetrating literally to the very marrow of my bones (the seat, the nest, the origin of all that can make me and keep me well.
The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord. –
